Joe Anderton: Guitar/Vocals

Andy Hayes: Guitar

Trev Turley: Bass

Joe J Fowkes: Drums

Joe brings a fresh new perspective to the music he plays, whether it’s his own material, or an up-to-date twist on a timely classic. The Joe Anderton Band gives him another tool in his box to add to his often solo appearances and in-demand guest slots. Coupled together with the vast experience of Andy, Joe J and Trev, ‘Live’ the songs take on new meanings and ventures, the included subtle nuances vary and expand with each playing. Each gig can be and are often unique, but the heart and soul remains a constant thread.

Andy has played in many ventures over the years, most recently the Southern Slide (Rosco Levee), whilst Trev was the mainstay of the Bare Bones Boogie Band and recently Malaya Blue. In amongst Joe J’s busy demand has recently included a West End run of the ‘Blues Brothers’ and now The Joe Anderton Band.

The Full Bio goes like this:

Joe picked up the music bug at a very young age (13) when he was discovered totally engrossed amongst a pile of his Dad’s vinyl albums. Now at the age of 20 he has played the guitar since and become a prolific songwriter/performer. In 2016 Joes regular Essex Jam attendance generated a chance meeting with Trev Turley (Bare Bones Boogie Band and Malaya Blue) and between them spawned the formation of The Joe Anderton Band. The addition of Joe Fowkes on drums and Andy Hayes (Rosco Levee and the Southern Slide) on rhythm guitar cemented the line up and intent!

Joes influences are varied, ranging from Blues, through rock, into Soul and touching on Folk with a hint of Country. His own material takes up a good proportion of his live performance, but everything else has the Joe Anderton style stamped all over. The band made their debut at Chelmsford’s Fling Festival in 2016 followed by two slots at Colne’s Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival, the Broadstairs Blues Festival and a 2017 support to Aynsley Lister at the 100 Club, London. The resulting reviews and generous feedback can be found on this website. The ‘Introducing Stage’ at 2018’s GB R&B Festival season opener in Skegness beckons for Joe and his band.

The Joe Anderton Band: A fresh take on music with a blues edge. Listen to ‘Down By The River’ for a one track taster ‘Dip-In’, off the ‘Live at the NCBC’ CD released in April 2017, available at all gigs.
